Won very easily; the others were driving and staggering. What er Lou appeared stiff and sore, but found the track exactly to his liking and ran a high claes race. He came from behind with a well-timed rush in the stretch. Bishop Reed did well. So did Goodrich. Both finished very strongly. Mark the latter for early action. Macy did the best be could and then retired. He was a false favorite. Buskin and Hugh Penny raced each othr to defeat in front. Pinkey Potter was almost thrown over the fence on the first tarn. After that there was nothing to the race. Sea Lion did well and when Burns saw ho had no chance ta beat Sam Lazarna Esq he eased the colt up. Newsgatherer had no excuses andfiniahed where he belonged. Mizpah evidently did not like the mud. It was a very one-Bided race. Dominick, on Sam Lazarus Esq., was kicked on the foot at the post. He is a good mud lark and Vititoe took no chances with him Blue Lick was interfered with on the first turn and was much used in getting up. Uhler tried to stay with Annowan in the first part of it nnd was raced to defeat. He does not like a. heavy trank. Pay the Fiddler was beaten off at tho head of the-stratch and Burns eased him up. The field was badly strung out at the finish. The first five were all in a heap and driving to the-limit. It wa a very close finish. As the race was run Hermoso was far the bast. Bose got him off badly and used him entirely too much in the first part of the race. Then the horse got Dinned in on the rail by Little Jack Horner in the stretch and was much hampered. Little Jack Horner showed a lot of speed, was in the deepest going all the way and birelF lasted lone enoueh to win. Jim Gore II was closing fast at the end and almost got up. Watch Wordsworth. He had bad luck, bat finished very strongly- He lost a lot of ground by making a wide stretch "turn. Miss Lynah could not extend herself in the goiDg.
