NOTES OF THE TURF. Joe Hill, the well-known jockey, has retire 3 from the turf. The famous little fellow has retnrned to his old home at Columbus, Ohio, accompanied by his wife, and purchased a farm near the city. In his many years as a jockey he has accumulated a fortune, and now, bsing at the age when a qniet home life is to be properly appreciated, he has concluded to be a stock farmer. At Gravesend, Saturday, the stewards suspended OConnor for the remainder of tho meeting for rough riding and reported hia case to tha Jockey Club for farther action. They also ordered that th entry of tho filly Decimal be refused hereafter. For service at San Francisco during the coming winter Barney Sehreibar has bought Ban-nockburn and the useful three-year-old Fly by Night from Pat Dunne, and has also picked up fonr other horse3 that he tbinka will prove use-I ful on the coast.
