j THE TORI" COGn3S. The annual meeting of the American Turf CoDgrOS came to an end yesterday after a two days session. Officers for the eneuing year were elected as follows: Preeident W. F. Schulte, New Louisville Jockey Club. Vice-President James Howard, Washington Park Club. Treasurer O. L. Bradley, Kentucky Association. Socrotary E, C. Hopper. Latonia Jockey Club. The office of assistant secretary was created and Mr. John Dillon, Mr. Hoppers efficient assistant, was elected to fill tho new position. The Chicago Jockey Club of this city and the Western Turf Association of San Francisco were admitted as new mmbjrs. The application f the Lakeside Jockey Club Roby for membership was rejected. Tha rales were amended in many particulars. All of the amendments will be published in full in Daily Racing Foem later on. Amocg tho changes rule 18 was amended to read as follows: "Every person or horse expelled or ruled off by any reputable running aseociatiun, or by the American, or National Trotting association shall stand ruled off the courses of the members of this Congress during the continuance of such expulsion. Any association that shall knowingly allow aiy rnld off parson or hoise to participate in its racing shall be outlawed." Another rule adopted was that no pereon against whom there are arrears shall be granted a license as a troinar or jockey. A rulo was also adopted that hereafter no employer shall be paid the mooey won by any jockey bound to him by contract who shall win whan riaiug outtide mounts. It will be paid directly to the jockey. A permanent i ffice of the Congrees will ba op. nid in Covington, ai.d the next meeting of the Congress will be held in Li-uuvillc. Tho motion of Mr. Corrigan for tho appointment of a committee to arrange dates for all tracks of the Tuif Congiess, was laid on the thble ai-d tach club will be permitted to fix its own dates as heretcf re. On the proposition to maka a Turf Congress Stake on cacti track the following plan was adoptdd: Hulf of the sum given by tue Turf Congress to each track is to ba diviucdbetwotin the trainers aad jockeys of tho first th ea horses in the proportion of 70 per coat, to the trainers and 30 uor cent, to the jocaeys.
