I.ATO SIAS COtlING MEE ING. Apparently the outlook for the coming La-tonia fall meeting is of the highly cheerful order. On this point yesterdays Cincinnati Enquirer says : "The Etake attractions for the opening of the Latonia Jockey Clubs fall meeting on next Saturday afternoon is the Tobacco Stakes for thr?e year-olds and upward, at a mile. "The Tobicco Stakes is one of the oldest of Latonias fixed events, and a great contest is looked for this year. "Over a dozen of the horses enterod are now on the track receiving their preparation for next Saturday afternoon. No higher class field has evr contested for the rich purse than that which will go to the post oa tho opening day. "With a fast track the race is bound to be run in time very close to the record. In fact, several of the entries have been worked in much batter time than the race was won in daring the last few years, thus s rengthening the belief that it will be a record-breaker this season. "Below will ba found a list of the horses that will positirely start in tho stake and are now on the track in training: 8. S Browns Troub3am, b. f, 3, by Trouba-doar Sunbeam. T. Q. "Other good ones in the racelara Freak, Bon Jour, Banish, Harry Duke, Dandy H., Molo, Cambrian, Ooomastus, Tom Collins, Ed Tipton, Alleviate, Greatland, Hop Scotch, Macy and The Bondman. "The track at Latoaia was alive with flyers yosterday, ana it looks liko oldea times at the Kenton County course. The stables are fast becoming crowded, and it will b3 necessary to ! put many horses on the outside. "Secretary Hopper stated yesterday! that he I was much encouraged ovor tho way things look for the meeting, and feels confident that Latonia will have great racing and big crowds this fall. The free list has been entirely dona awty with and tho admission fee raised from 50 cents to 75 cents. No complimentary badges will be issued to any one except members. That thoro will ba plt-nty of bookmakers doing business in the ring now seems an assured fact. Among the best known pencilers that are coming here to draw in for the meeting are : Marcus C irtwright, Sam Wagner, Charley Bollinger, Billy Shannon, W. Applegate, Sidney Jacobs, Johnny Troy, Morris Lelyett, Frank Fowler, Frank Phillips and a half dozan others. Colonel Applegate is now in Chicago looking after this part of the game., and it is quite likely that a number of bjoks will drop out of the field to come down and try Latonia for the first few draw-ins at least. There will be no lack of bookmakers if the sport corae3 up to expectations, and, judging from tho present outlook, it will bo the best in years."
