NOTES OF THE TURF. W. S. Vosburgh, American representative of the English Joskey Club, has obtained a flattering number of entries from American stables to events abroad. For the Jockey Clab Stakes, to bs ran at tho Newmarket meeting in 1902, thirty nominations are from this country; tho Princess of Wales Stakes of 0,000, also at Newmarket, has attracted twenty-Eeven, and the Doncaster St. Loger of 1901, seventeen. To the Paris Grand Prix of 1901 Mr. Vo3bargh has forwarded eleven nominations.- Among the sta-bios entering to the above named events are thote of Messrs. Keene, Whituey, Oxnard and G. B. Morris. Mr. Marcus Daly has named one of his speedy thoroughbred youngsters Admit al Dewey. This namesake of the hero of Manila is a yearling chestnut colt by Tammany Wood Violet, and his quarter and three-furlong trials are reported wonderfully fast. As the colt is registered with the Jockey Club it will ba the only thoroughbred animal recognized as entitled to bear the name and title of tho sea warrior. Col. W. S. Barnes has added to the list of stallions at Melbourne Stud the nine-year-old herie Rainbow, by Longfellow Buff and Blue, by War Dance. Rainbow was a good racehorse and is grandly bred on both sides. Two of his get have bean trained and both are winners, n token that Rainbow is destined to be a worthy paddock companion to Jim Gore and Prince of Monaco. The entire collection of thoroughbreds of the Palo Alto Stud, California, will ba sold by the Fasig-Tipton Company at Madison Square Garden, New York City, bstween November 20 and 29 Tho lot of stallions and mares is a valuable one and should be largely sought after. The American bred horse, Diakka, which won so many good races for lha Lorillard-Beret ford establishment, is announced to begin stud life at Eyrefleld Lodge next year at a fee of 20 guineas. Gaston was left out of last Saturdays chart in the third Windsor race by telegraphic error. He ran tenth all the way, was 10 to 1 in both bettings, and was ridden by Geifer. Carruthers and Shield shipped from Detroit to California yesterday via Chicago. High Order, Eastin and Larabios crack two-year-old, will not ba seen at post again the present season. Having: developed a splint, he was fired and blistered, which necessitates his being thrown out of training. Until High Order fell lame last Jane he promised to rank the best colt of the year. Zeke Abrahams and Sam Morton have returned from Boise, Idaho. Abrahams says the meeting was a financial euccess, bat the great drawback was the limited number of horses. Senator Ddbois proved to be ilia best horso over a distance of ground, while Dutch wbb easily the bast sprinter. San Francisco Chronicle.
