NOTES OF THK TURF. Three daughters of Uayon dOr have been sold to go to England. It is presumed they were purchased for Mr. W. C. Whitney of New York. Vhey are Beice dOr dam of Bushi out of Lilly R by Glenelg, purchased from T. CI. McDowell; Bay Bella dam of 3aa Bobber and Merry Thought, out of Bluegrass Belle, by War Dance, purchased from Dr. W. A. Smith of Canada; and The Belle dam of Rensselaer and Bella of Troy. The Belle is a full sister to Bay Belle, and was purchased from J. E. McDonald of New York. Fridays Cincinnati Enquirer says: "Eugenia Wickes, who in her day has held her own with the bsst sprinters in the west, has been seen at the post for the last time. Before the stake race yesterday trainer Arthur Nowsum announced that whatever the result of that race might be it was Eugenia Wickes last race. She has become old and cunning and having outlived her usefulness as a racemare she will now be sent to Mr. Jungbluths farm to take her place in the stud." Odom will not be seen in the saddle at Aqueduct or Bennings. At least that is the present intention of hi3 father. The boy is cot in the best of health, and as his season has been a long and hard one, it really seems as if he has earned a rest. He expects to winter at hia parents home in Georgia. Early in the spring he will go to Mr. Whitneys farm to help gallop the horses that will race next year. A race meeting in connection with the State Fair will begin at Birmingham, Ala., November 7. Col. W. R. Letcher has been engaged to act as presiding judge and C. J. Fitzgerald will do the starting. Gratz fianly is managing the racing department of the fair. W .M. Barrick has purchased of J. E. Madden the two-j ear-old bay colt McMeekin, by Fonso Daisy Rose. While the terms of the sale were private, the colt is believed to have cost Barrick in the neighborhood of ,500. J. H. McCormick, probably acting for L. V. Bell, has purchased Radford from William Lakeland. It is not likely that the latters suspension will affect the colts starting, as he has never run in Lakelands name.
