NOTES OF THE TURF. Another car load of horses from Chicago reached Oakland recently. G. W. Scott brought back San Mateo and Garter. E. W. Fogg had Go to Bed and Midian, O. P. Bomigh, Mocorito and Defiance, and J. W. ONeill, Frank Bell and Gussie Fay in the car. The Washington Jockey Club has decided to return to the old flag method of starting horses. At its coming autumn meeting the barrier gate will ba abandoned. Mr. Cnarles F. Price arrived at San Francisco Tuesday and entered upon the discharge t f his duties bs presiding steward at the Oakland racetrack.
