SAN FRANCISCO GOSSIP. The San Francisco Chronicle of November 7 says: "A carload of horses balonging to Earn-ehaw Brothers and W. J. Bpeirs arrived at the Oakland track yesterday from Chicago. "H. J. Jones, father of Eddie Jones, has been outside the money only once with Campus, The Buffoon and Druidess in the last twenty-seven starts. "The Stanford stakes, for two-year-olds, at seven furlongs, will be run at Tanforan Park on Wednesday, November 15. The San Mateo stake haB been set for Saturday, November 18. "It takes from 31 to 33 minutes to run down from Third and Townsend streets to Tanforan Park. "It is not often that there are five full brothers on the turf at one time, but Diomed, who made bis initial start yesterday, enjoj s the rare prestige of having four brothers, all of which were good performers. Olinthus, like Diomed, is being trained by Galen Brown. Ab Stemler had Arbeces east, while race-goers will recall the sensational win of D.gs at the Bay District track when the Kentucky colt, Strauss, received such a flying start. "Tanforan Park promises to be one of the fastest circular tracks in the world. Yesterday five forlongs was run-in 1:011 and six furlongs in 1:14, very fast time for a brand new track. There is not nearly so much sand in the top dressing as at Ingleside, and trainers predict miles in 1:39 in the very near future. If Afa-mada had been forced out there is every reason to believe that she would have negotiated the six f uriongs in 1 :14."
