Money Muss got a flying start, showed the most speed and won impressively. He is a good looker and judging from this race, will beat better ones. Battus did his best and under pressure finished stoutly. Boomerack, off poorly and badly interfered with on the first turn, ran a cracking good race. With clear sailing he would have been a keen contender. Possart ran a fair race. Tab him. He has worked fast over the Sheffield track. There was a general mixup on the far turn shortly after the start and all but Money Muss, Battus and Ericsell were interfered with. Scratched— 17593 Give All, 107. Overweights — Money Muss, 2 pounds. Won easily at the end after a hard early drive. Dutch Comedian was the best and was also lucky. Caywood kept him on the outside all the way, thereby avoiding all interferences. On the stretch turn the Comedian looked beaten, but he came away finely in the last quarter. Insurrection, on the inside, was bumped and badly interfered with as the field left the post. She weaved her way through the field gamely and ran a fine race. Microscope got away flying, took the shortest route and looked all over a winner at the three furlong post, but when the pinch came in the stretch he tired badly, Louisville made a strong bid in the stretch. So did Fidel Youlin, who finished with a sharp rush! ODea was prominent for about half a mile and then tired badly. Sidarth ran away two miles before the start and the field was sent off without him. Scratched -16403 Queen Safie, 119; 17695 Wedding Guest, 110; 16248San Mateo, 121. Dutch Comedian, place, 3 to 5. Insurrection, place, 3 to 2; show, 7 to 10. Went to post at 3 :30. At post 15 minutes. Start good. Won handily; second, third, fourth and fifth were hard at it. Alpaca received a good ride, had clear sailing throughout and won a lucky race. She is nothing near Sam Fullens equal and it was only an accident that she beat him. Sam Fullen was pocketed and interfered with at every turn, and was generally poorly handled. He never really got settled into his stride until the stretch turn was reached, "thon ho came like a flash and was undoubtedly the best horse in the race. Rosa Diah had no excuses and ran a good race. With clear sailing Expelled might have been third. He was bumped and knocked off his stride on the far turn. Princess Thyra was evidently short. At any rate she rau poorly and seemed tired enough to lie down in the stretch. Innovator did fairly well. Flick wa? pulled off Manilian by the barrier at the po6t and the horse ran away five miles before he could be caught. Corrected weights— Rosa Diah, 95. Overweights— Manilian, 5 pounds; Rosa Diah, 31 ; Princess Thyra, 34 ; T. D. Rhoda, 24 : Inno-vator, 5. Alpaca, place, 7 to 5; show, 3 to 5. Sam Fullen, place, out. Rosa Diah, show, 2 to 1. Went to post at 4 : 10. Off at the second break to a good start. Won hand ridden ; second driving to the limit; third easily. Cariboo was best ridden and was in the best condition to go to the races. He is a good looking colt and Knight took him the shortest route. Hub Prather ran above his mark, and at one time in the stretch looked as though he was going to be troublesome. Both Prestar and Prince Blazes will do better in the mud. Manlius was beaten off all the way. Cariboo, place, 2 to 5. Hub Prather, place, 5 to 1. Prestar, place, 4 to 5. Dandy Jim got a flying start and showed the most speed. In fact he won like a good colt, standing a drive from the head of the stretch home, and at the end was going away. Icon had no excuses and did his best, but hung a trifle in the last twenty yards. Benson Caldwell ran a good race. He had a rough journey, but finished stoutly. Gibson Girl got into a jam at the start and never got untangled. Throw her race out. Light Ball broke from behind running, but whatever chance he had was ruined by the ride he got. Astor showed the most speed ofthe party and was never fully extended. He can beat ordinary horses in an impressive way. Rollins was fortunate in not meeting with interference and ran his best race. Tillie W. is in winning form. She never had a chance to fully extend herself until straightened away for home then she closed a big gap. Papa Harry was well ridden and ran a good race. Obsidian stopped as if short in the run home. It was an unwieldy field and consequently a bad one to abstract accurate form from. The winner was runup 00 over his entered price but was retained.
