BACDra i»ati:s H.vstiEi. radical change in the racing dates of the clubs row poring the Northern Circuit lias been made, particulars whereof are set forth in the following special to yesterdays Chronicle: "Instead of seeing the Canadian Derby decided June 30, Buffalo race patrons will journey over to Fort Eric June 12, as on that date the three-year-olds will struggle for the rich purse in a mile and a quarter race. The Turf Congress stakes at a mile and one-sixteenth, originally scheduled to be run in Detroit on the Highland Park track June 14, will not be decided until July 20. "These changes are the result of the decision reached by the Highland Park club officials at a conference this afternoon, when the entire Canadian circuit dates, barring the independent meetings at Toronto and Hamilton, were given a juggling that will come as a surprise to turfmen who have entries in the various stake events that are part and parcel of the northern meetings. In order to lessen the expenses of shipping from track to track and do away with the bother and expense of bonding horses in and out of Canada more times than is necessary the changes in dates were made and they will doubtless be appreciated by the horse owners and trainers who race through this part of the country. "The original arrangement was for Detroit to follow Toronto and Hamilton, then Fort Erie, Montreal, Detroit and Fort Erie in the order named. Fort Erie will now follow Hamilton, with Montreal, Detroit and Fort Erie coming in that order, and it is expected Hamilton and Toronto will hold their fall meetings in plenty of time for Detroit to get a second meeting late in September before the pilgrimage to the south commences. "The dates, as officially announced tonight by Secretary Parmer, are: Fort Erie, June 12 to July 4. with the Canadian Derby to be run on the opening day; Bel Air, Montreal, July 7 to 21 ; Highland Park, Detroit. July 26 to August 11 ; Fort Erie, August 15 to September 5.
