Premature ran a good race, finished fast and driving away in the last hundred yards. Favonius stood a long drive and finished strongly, as also did Limelight. Gold Lace found the route a bit too far. Screech, Connie and Quiz were used up in setting the pace. They had the race between them until a furlong from home. Lambkin faltered after getting to the front rank. Had he saved his horse he would have came nearer to winning. Ildrim was cut off at the three-eighths post and was coming very strongly at the end. Cousin Jess jumped well and finished stoutly. Mazo will make a good horse through the field as soon as he settles down. He is too rank yet. Van Ship was probably short.
