The Bobby took the shortest route and was lucky. He i 1 tame through with a fine burst of speed at the head of the stretch, but Miller took no chances I and punished liini hard all through the last eighth. For a new beginner Lake Mills ran a good ] rare and should win a maiden race the first time asked. Maccabee jb not much. He was well 1 ridden and had no excuses. Praetoriau was never dangerous. Stites and Lydia S. used what t P speed they had early and both tired badly in the stretch. . The Bobb, place, 6 to 5; show, 3 to 5. Lake Mills, place, 2 to 1; show, evens. Went to post at 2:45. Off at the first break to a good start. The entire field was driving to o 1 the limit. Nobleman took the shortest route and for once in numerous starts was well handled, I, 1 kiley waited in on the rail until the natural spread at the head of the stretch came, then he made e 1 a quirk, sharp move with Nobleman, and the colt glided by the leaders like a flash. Orimar r 1 ,-howe l fine speed and was well handled, still Ross could have won had he shut Nobleman off at it the head of the stretch. Bangle pinned his ears on the far turn and sulked through the last st three furlong*. Miss Ross showed her usual turn of speed. Tyrba ran a good race for him. Globe 11. is a good, game gelding and is a crackerjack at the jumping game. e. 1 He underwent all kinds of trouble during the journey, being bumped and jostled several times js I and al=o whipped over the face by the boy on Van Brunt. At the last fence Globe II. did not seem m to have a chance to get up, but he did, and at the end was going away. Frond, differently ridden in than she was when last out, ran an altogether different race. She is a neat jumper, but is hardly ly big enough to carry much weight through the field over-a great distance. Yiking ran a fair race. e. Monita stumbled and almost fell at the eighth obstruction. Becky Rolfe was always prominent, t, i a- were Lord Chesterfield and Van Brunt. It was a pretty contest throughout. J Scratched-18235 Zufallig, 136. Corrected weights— Globe II., 153 pounds. Garry Hermann now enjoys the title of being the champion two-year-old shown up in in the west thus far. He took Silverdale at 6uch a clip in the first three eighths that he made the ie latter stop and then Garry Hermann only cantered home. Sortie did well for a new beginner. ir. It was a very close finish and Star Chamber won simply through sh the action of the nod. He is a game colt and stopped and then came again in the he stretch. Jimp was keyed up to the highest pitch, heavily backed and ran an excellent race. :e. Ros may have been I tritle overconfident in the last fifty yards, still, the horse was tiring and it would hardly have done for him to have gone to the whip.
