Orontas had a rough journey, but stood it and got up in time under strong riding. Scales was outrun in the first part of the race, but closed fast at the end. Long Isle was held out of it too long. Charentus showed plenty of early speed. Kinnikinnick appeared dangerous in the last furlong, but tired near the end. Survivor ran a good race.
