Still the last time he ran it was in the mud and in such going he could not do his best. The Butcher beat the barrier, but is not of much account and this advantage was of little use to him. Possart interfered a trifle with The Butcher in the stretch, but not enough to call for judicial — action. Lasance ran a fair race, finishing strongly. Woodstick well his stride, had I -t there was a lot of sharp action got away on "I clear sailing, was lucky and took the shortest route. Ross resorted to questionable tactics with J him in the stretch, monopolizing more of the track than really belonged to him. Galanthus I f made a good showing, and although hemmed in on the rail in the last fifty yards, made a strong f — bid. Considering it was Prince of Delights initial start he ran a good race, making up ground 1 throughout. El Piloto looked dangerous on the turn, but tired badly through the stretch. Her- . 18 nando is a good looker by Hanover, but showed nothing sensational in this race, but perhaps can i 1 do better. Overweights- Al Brown, 4 pouuds. lc Woodstick, plact .- u 1; show, evens. Bermuda Prince improved considerably since his list race, and when at his u 1 best he is probably a good, useful selling plater. Elsie Venner was bumped several times dur- r 1 ing the journey, but despite this 6he ran a good game race. Insurrection was pinched off and a 1 lost much ground on the far turn, but for this she would have given the winner a stout argument. t 1 Yl Caskey does not seem to amount to much. Daisy O. showed speed to the head of the stretch, J" 1 but then stopped badly. Mandamus also tired badly after going a half. Sorrel Rose ran a good 5 Corrected weights— Al Caskey, 104. Winner— Br. f, bv Linden— Miss Galop. Went to post at 3:50. Off at the first break to a good start for all but Talma. Won cleverly. . It was a terrific drive for second place. Clara Wooley is a good filly, was well handled and _ when Narvaez got ready he shot her to the front like a Hash. Prince Plenty is a big, awkward -d fellow that will improve with racing. He raced Wax into subjection in the first half and then, n I under punishment, hung on gamely at the end. Wax ran a fair race, but is not game and at the ie finish was tired enough to lie down. Brownie Anderson was dull of speed and seemed stale. She has not been raced much, but is perhaps drummed too much in her work. Talma was up in in j 3 the air aud had no chance when the barrier went up. Scratched— 17923 Fidel Youlin, 102. Clara Wooley. place, 4 to 5; show out. Prince Plenty, place, 21 to 1 ; 9how, evens. Winner— B. f. by Russell Cheese Straw. Went to poet at 4 :30. At post 3 minutes. Start fair. Won with considerable in reserve after er an early drive: t lie next Bra were driving hard. Luerana is a good, game filly of fair class, was as well ridden, and won like a lady. She was under severe punishwent from the three-furlongs post st uoine. and can be marked to beat the best youngsters at the track. Kid Cox did his best. Invic-tus ic- had a rough journey, being badly interfered with on the far turn and again on the stretch ch turn. Money Muss had no excuses other than that the route was too long. He and Denizulu _■ both tired badly in the stretch. Sannazaro ran better than the figures show. He tried to move up several times during the race, but each time was sharply shut off. con was coming fast at at the end. . Scratched-18053 Gibson Girl, 103. Maryland Reserve was lucky throughout and his win was considerable an accident. He was clear of everything when he swung into the stretch, but Grimes let him swerve and the gelding darted from the center of the track to the rail, coming close to striking interfering with The Bobby. The latter ran a good, game race and would have won in a few strides. Guess Me, on the extreme outside, finished with a tremendous rush, Galileo ran fairly well. Rollins was dull of speed, and for this poor showing the judges will refuse his entry the future. Glonoine finished stoutly. Duty showed some speed.
