GOS.SIP OF THE TURF. Diversion, the 6teeplecha.se campaigner owned by Mr Chamblett, was destroyed Thursday night at the Graveeend course. The horse had developed i ringbone which pained him so much that he walked around in his stall on three legs holding his foreleg straight out in front of him. Rather than see the game animal suffer, Mr. Chamblett thought it best to shoot him, and accordingly this was done. Diversion has been quite a figure on the Metropolitan tracks. He was a six-year-old gelding by Rayon dOr— Di Vernon, aud was bred by Mr. August Belmont. Diversion went off in his training as a two-year-old and never raced that year. He made his debut at the fall meeting at Westchester in 1897, when Mr. Foxhall Keene won the Amateur Cup with him. Mr. Belmont sold him soon after to Mr. Chamblett. The latter turned Diversion into a jumper and he made a successful titnbertopper. winning many good races.
