Winner— B. g. by Newcastle— Willow. " Went to post at 2:30. At post 22 minutes. Start fair. Won easily. The next three were doing their best. Crosby was the bes.; saved at the post, was lucky in getting away and won all the way. Chappaqua had no excuses, was well ridden and ran his best race. Little Reggie got awav none too well, was interfered with often and everything considered, ran a fine race but was tacky to be third La Vega would have beaten him for third place had Walsh been more active when the pinch came. La Vega was in and out and in fact ridden all over the track. Leando ran a good race as did Johnny McHale, who was interfered with often. Troubaline was in a jam at the start and had no chance after that. The same comment applies to Brulare. Evidently Josephine B.s hard race of the day before told on her. Winner— Ch. h, by Sir Dixon— Dione. Went to post at 3:10. Off at the first break to a good start. Won in a drive ; second and third were doing their best. George Arnold was the best horse and had to be to win. Vandusen managed to get awav in front, but had bad racing luck and the horse had no chance to show his full speed until the stretch was reached, then he finished with a tremendous rush. Reminder is certainly a coward. He was away flying, had all the best of it throughout, but hung when the pinch came. Devin rode a poor race on Star Chime. He tried several times to go through an impossible opening and eventually had to take the long route. Possart was in and out and all over the track and ran w»ll. Overweights— Isabinda, 34 pounds. Silver- iale got away flying, showed a high order of speed, but bad no chance whatever of beating Alard Scheck. The latter is a high class youngster and Burns had to pull him to Silverdale. With Silverdaleout in front Burns simply held Alard Scheck allithe way. This is all there was to the race. Mello-■cole. uucler a lazy ride, came to life suddenly and won ull the way. Toribio was perhaps the best, but Mellocole managed to nose him out. The latters race was a marked improvement over his recent performances. Ennomia was bumped and jostled throughout and, everything considered, ran a good race. Vohicer ran below his true form and after the race was claimed by J. H. Smith. Elkin was sore and sulked all the way. Overweights— Elkin. 1 pound; Major Mansir, 44. Dissolute showed a fine turn of speed all the way, but was simply outclassed. The Bobby did all that Jie could. So did Donna Rita. The race was between the first two all the way. Burns was always in a good position and held the others safe all the way. Midwood had no excuses and ran his best race. Limelight is a good maiden. Clara Wooley was interfered with, had a rough journey, but ran a good race after she came into the stretch. Vain acted badly at the post, and by the time the race was run wa too tired to show much speed. Fair Deceiver showed her usual amount of speed, hut tired in the stretch.
