Winner— Br. c, bf Esher— Silk Gown. Went to post at 2:30. At post 4 minutes. Start fair. Won handily at the end after behiK hard driven ; second and third under keen pressure. Garry Hermann was the best, but did not . run like a 1 to 4 shot in the early part of the journey. Boland was hunching and driving the colt for all he was worth when going down the backstretch. and try as he would he could not keep up I with the leaders. At the head of the stretch all but Garry Hermann and Sannazaro swung very J wide This naturally gave the last-named pair a great advantage. Bullman rode a powerful finish on Sannazaro. who pulled up quite lame. Kid Cox should have been second. Martin took him the longest route and was of little help to him at the end. Sad Sams early flash of speed was dazzling. Both he and Battus juit in the stretch. Corrected weights— Garry Hermann. 117; Sad Sam, 112. Scratched— 19193Silverdale. 117. Garry Hermann, place, out. Y.ianer-Cli f, by Bobby Beach— Faithless. Went to post at 3:05. Oil at the first break to an excellent start. Won eased up; second, third and fourth doing their best. From a time standpoint it was a grand race for May Beach. She raced the others into subjection in the first half, and all through the stretch was loafing. Consequently it is safe to say that she could have broken the record had she been hard pressed. Flaunts race was a smashing good one for him. He had some bad luck early, but overcame it cleverly and finished gamely under pressure. Cora Goetz is a very speedy filly and was right there all the way. Goebel had a rough journey, otherwise lie might have beaten Cora GoeU. Hagerdon was outrun all the way. Hermoso showed his usual speed, but he does not like a fast track. Passe was prominent for about three and a half furlongs. Scratched— 1923H Kid Cox, 74. May Beach, place, out. Flaunt, place, 24 to 1; show, 4 to 5. Winner— Ch. c, by Top Gallant— Addie C. II. Went to po?t at 3:35. At post I minutes. Start good. Won easing up; second and third were driving to the limit. Sidney Lucas again showed his superior quality. He was by far the best horse in the race and had to be to win. Bullman got into a jam on the first turn and was never able to get through. He t lied often but was always shut off and was eventually obliged to pull up and run all around his horses. Passing the half mile ground Bullman was whipping Sidney Luca6 for all he was worth and the colt responded with bull-dog tenacity. The Lady is a high class hlly and ran a grand race. Bergen rode her well. too. Serrano had a rough journey and ran gamely throughout. Pink Coat was forced to take the long route and ran much further than any other horse. Found si.uwed her usual amount of speed but hung at the end. Potente was interfered with on the far turn. Boney Boy retired early. Fly By Night was running easily in front when he broke down and Caywood eased him up. It was a pretty race to look at all the way. Corrected we igLts— Boney Boy, 105. Winner— Ch. g, by Tammany— Beau Catcher. Went to post at 4 :10. At post 3 minutes. Start good. Won easily at the end after a hard, early drive; second and third were driving to the limit. Limerick was best and best ridden. Burns took the shortest route, was always in a good position and made a sharp, quick move in he stretch. For an instant Limerick hung but when Burns struck him with the whip he responded gamely. Mellocole showed a lot of speed and came near making a runaway race of it. He is not game and was tiring badly at the end. Castake finished with a rush and would have been second in a few more strides. Cogmoosey had a rough journey and hardly ran his race. Silver Garter showed speed but quit badly in the stretch. Espionage ran a fairly good race only. The Devil was hardly ready. Limerick was run up 00 over his entered price by ""lexas" Smith but was retained. Scratched— 19097Great Bend, 115; 1X987-Polly Bixby. 89; 19146Silver Coin, 100. Overweights— Castake. 3 pounds. Winner— Ch. c. by Great Tom Nellie Van. Went to post at 4 :4u. Off at the first break to a good tart. Won in a terrific drive ; second, third and fourth were al-o hard at it. It was a spectacular finish and Bullman clearly outrode » Boland. In fact, it was Bullmans masterly finish that won the race. Advance Guard ran game » and true, but needed a lot of help in th - final sixteenth to get up. Gold Fox was best as the race , was run, but Boland rode a had race on him throughout and did everything but fall off in the i last twenty yards. Tayon is a useful racing tool and was right there all the way. The Elector r broke down and pulled up in a bad condition. The Roman finished a long way back. Winner— B. c, by Iroquois— Hilda. Went to post at 5 :20. Off at the second break to a good start. Won easily. There was much keen action behind the winner. Chappaqua got a running start, was always near the front, and went into the lead like a Hash when the stretch was reached, winning running away. Little Reggie improved suddenly and over-raced herself. Red Pirate ran as good, if not better, than did the winner. Patterson took the colt in behind his horses on the first turn and met with interference throughout. Lomond had no excuses, and stopped badly when the pinch came. Limelight took the longest route. Miss Shanley was worn out in trying to get to the front early and for the good of the filly Knight eased her in the stretch. Chappaqua. place. 7 to 5 ; show, 7 to 10. Little Reggie, place. 6 to 1 ; show, 3 to 1. Red Pirate, show, 3 to 1. Limelight, place. 7 to 5: show. 7 to 10.
