Won hand ridden ; second, third and j fourth driving to the limit. Searcher was well ridden. Winkfield waited on the rail with him . for the first half mile, thereby avoiding the early pace which was terrific, and came with a rush _ through the stretch. Princess Tatyana. with all the worst of the weights, ran a smashing good race. She showed a fine turn of speed and hung on longer than usual at the end. Kohnwreath tired badly in the final sixteenth and would have been beaten for third place in another stride, g Bonnie Lissak was slow to begin and had to take the long route. This considered she ran as -good a race as the winner. Possart shot his bolt early. Rio de Altar acted badly at the post. Scratched 19661 Cora Goetz, 110. Overweights-Kohnwreath. 1 pound. He j could not keep up while going down the backstretch, but from the three-eighths post home he j worked his way to the front gamely. Tuthill overraced himself and coming with a rush at the j end gave Bangle a stout argument. Greenock finished with a tremendous rush. The Unknown j showed a fine turn of speed and is in winning form. Winner Ch g, by St. Florian— Everywhere. Went to post at 3:20. Oft at the first break to a good start. Won handily ; second and third driving. Passe Partout, as usual, fenced finely and is a crackerjack at the game. Becky Rolfe i is gamo to the core. She was uDder a drive throughout the last half mile and pulled up quite | lame. Casey, on Viking, seemed a trifle careless at the end, and perhaps threw second place away. Young Exile ran poorly. Frond was about twenty lengths in front of her field and apparently running easily when she fell, and from all indications she would have won. Manchie had a winning chauce when he full. Winner -B. c, by Order— Happy Sally II. Went to p st at 3:E0. Off at the first break to a good start. Won cleverly at the end after a hard early drive; second and third under keen pressure. Jolly Rower was ridden to perfection, being close to the rail and saving ground all the way. He hung a trifle at the head of the stretch, but when Winkfield struck him with the whip he responded gamely and was going away at the end. There was no extra fast pace to the race, and this was a great handicap to Milwaukee, who was compelled to force th« pace himself. At the head of the stretch the latter seemed to be winning, but he could not withstand Jolly Rogers rush. The Bobby finished strongly and is a shifty three-year-old under light weight and ov»r a distance of ground. Clay Poynter ran his race." Boney Boy was rank and fighting for his head down the backstretch, but when the pinch came he quit. Scratched 19701 Henry C, 98. Jolly Roger, place, 1 to 2; show, out. The first two were driving to the limit. It was a pretty finish and Alcedo won in the last stride. Seldom do boys as light as Tally and Waldo ride as well as they did in this instance. Alcedo and The Lady ran nose and nose all through the final sixteenth. Malaise was outclassed and besides was cutoff on the far turn when she tried to go through. Norford ran away three miles at top speed while at the post and was purposely left This time marks a new track record. Scratched— 19248Mi8B Mae Day, 90. Alcedo. place, out.
