He jollied Littlefield along all through the stretch, saving enough for a finish move. Bastile was best and should have won by a length or more. Annoy ran well. Betsy Jane II. and Eophone ran their races in breakaways. Nabocklish made up a lot of ground in the stretch. McMeekiu was well ridden, saved ground all the way and made his move at the right time. At the weights Gonfalon was the best horse. He lost three lengths by being shut out on the first turn, and then again Shaw made his run too late. He would have won in the next stride. Martinias showed speed to the last furlong, where he tired. Cousin Jess was seemingly out for work, as he made no move until in the stretch. Eiuer jumped poorly. Draughtsman ran well to the stretch and there tired.
