The next four were driving to the limit. Sortie was best and best ridden. Bloss hugged the rail all the way. thereby savins much ground, and came away without an effort in the stretch. Xatural Gas ran a smashing good race. Flick got him pocketed several times and rode a poor race generally. Invictus got away Hying liked the going, and showed a lot of speed, but quit almost to a walk in the stretch. Hernando had no mischances. He was high in flesh and was probably short. Poyntz was sharply shut off at the start. Leo Newell ran a bad race. Scratched -19908 Henry Burt. 110; 19696 Floranthe. 107. Sortie, place, evens: .-how, 1 to 2. Winner— B. f. by Falsetto — Patroness. Went to post at 3:05. Off at the second break to a perfect start. Won driving and out to the last ounce: second and third were also under keen pressure. Josephine B. for once managed to get away well and on a track to her liking ran a smashing gooc race. She and John A. Morris had a bumping match in the stretch, one being as much to blame as the other. Hermoso was hard ridden all the way. but the early pace was terrific considering the condition of the track and he could never get to the front. This took the heart out of him as he is strictly a front runner. John A. Morris was staggering all through the stretch and tired enough to lie down. The others were outclassed and beaten off all the way. Scratched— 19907 Lamity, 100; 198773Hilee, 102; 19939 Euterpe, 100; 199072La Princessa, 100; 18939 Highland Lad, 98: 199373Georgie. 105. Went to pott at 3:3?. Off at the first break to a good start. Won easing up; second handily; third and fourth were doing tneir best. Scales is a horse with some pretentions to good class and Lad an easy time of it here. Buchanan, on far the best horse, rode a well-judged race. Greenock liked the going and beat the others as easily as Scales beat him. The Lady about ran her race. Yohicer showed a lot. of speed, but swerved all over the track and tried to run out in the stretch. The field was badly strung out all the way. Winner— B. g. by Badge— Tweedledum. Went to post at 4:05. Off at the st coi.d break to a good start. Won easily ; second and third were driving. Gold Badge won like a good colt. Knight swung very wide into the stretch, losing much ground, but he struck a streak of good going and at the end had plenty in reserve. Regea. after being sharply interfered with by Princess Tatyana shortly after the start, ran a good, game race, flandy Man was right there at the finish. He got into a jam on the far turn, otherwise he would have been closer up. Princess Tatyana seems to be an inconsistent performer. Money Muss wa.- cut down m the race and Kuhn eased him ap at the end. Corrected weights— Regea. 87. Gold Badge, place, evens; show. 1 to 2. Regea, place. 8 to 5; show. 7 to 10. Eva Rice reveled in the ,oing. had speed to give away and won in a high-class way. John Baker was well handled, had no excuses and ran his best race. Little Jed Waldo was not strong _ough to do Dissolute justice ami the colt ran on his own courage all the way. There was too much speed and the rotitf was too far for Tayon who was well handled and ran to the mark. There was nothing to the race outside of the first four. Scratched— 19662 Major Dixon.
