Want to post at 2:15. At post 8 minutes. Start fair. Won handily at the end after an early dr;v*: second and third staggering TootBie Green bumped her way through in the stretch and won simply because she possessed mere stamina than the others. It was a tired lot at the end. Glove ifot away well and had no miM-bances. Ida V.. badly outrun in tbe first part of the race, came with a terrific rush at the end Reiua del Celia is a speedy filly but a quitter. When she £ stopped she stopped all over and was tired enough to lie down at the end. The field was badly : strung out all the way. TootBie, Green, place, 6 to 5; show. 3 to 5. Olekma reveled in the going and was never fully extended. She is in ber best form and a mud-lark of high degree. Obsidian finished stoutly. He met with some inter- ference shortly after the start, and this considered ran a good race. Prestar had no excuses and is a bad horse these days. La Princessa was sharply interfered with when going down the back-stretch, and after that would not try a yard, seeming to sulk. Maclaren had a rough journey. Jim W. ran a good race. Caloocan was a false alarm. Scratched— 19994 Josephine B , 105. Overweights— La Princessa. 2 pounds. Olekma, place. 8 to 5; Bhow. 4 to 5. Obsidian, place. 6 to 1 : show. 3 to 1. Winner — B. f. by Likely— Lady Vixen. Went to pr st at 3:15. At post 24 minutes. Start good. The first five were close together and 1 driving to the limit. Tildy Ann was cleverly saved at the post and this, to a great extent, ac- 1 counted for her win. All of the horses were wheeling and kicking and much used during the long 1 delay, while Tildy Ann was standing perfectly still. Heigh Ho improved suddenly since her last 1 race and made a good showing. She was tiring at the end and Braw Lad would have beaten her 1 in a few more strides. The latter stopped on the far turn, but came again in the stretch. Irish | Jewel ran a rood race Floridan showed the most speed, but quit badly in tbe stretch. I Scratched - l9933-Miss Shanley. 102. Winner— Ch. h. by Sequin— Lulu Baker. Went to post at 4 :05. Off at the second break to a fair start. Won easily ; second and third were driving. John Baker was much the best. He is nearly a stake horse in heavy going. The horse got away in a tangle and wing around the first turn he did not seem to have a chance. Bloss used judgment and waited until Baker got fully in his stride before he made his move, then he pas ed those in front as though they were tied. Handpress was interfered with on the first turn and ran a good race. Boney Boy showed his usual flash of speed but quit under pressure at the end. Hansford showed some speed but bled and was eased up when going down the backst retch. Scratched -19876 Miss Mae Day. 96; 19937Maggie Davis. 90. John Baker, place, evens ; show. 2 to 5. As the race was run Dandy Jim was the be6t. and only poor handling beat him. He is a good, game colt that likes the mud, and considering how much the worst he had of the weights he ran a fine race. There was no serious contention outside of the first two. Silurian, place. 1 to 2; show, out. Dandy Jim. place. 1 to 2 ; show, out. Winner — Ch. g. by Fouso Miss Nannie. Want to post at 5 :00. Off at the first break to a good start. VYou easily : second and third were doing their best. Frangible liked the going, was the best of a poor lot and was also cleverly handled. Ma-ter Jackaoo allowed the gelding to rate along at his own rate of speed and uever once had to urge him. To make sure of winning the boy hit Frangible a couple of times with his whip at the head of the stretch and that was all there was to it. Mouongah was at home in the going and ran a good race but pulled up quite la i.e. Hosi had no excuses. Barton was none too well handled but at his bel i.- a bad horse. Judge Dennys racing days seem to be over but a dry track suits him best. Overweights— Judge Denny, I pounds. Frangible, place, evens ; show, 1 to 2. Mouougah, place, 5 to 1; show, 2 to 1.
