Winner— Ch «. by Ben Strome— Begum. Went to post at 2:15. Off at the first break to a fair start. Won handily ; second whipped out; third, fourth and fifth driving hard. Bengal was the best and after being favored by the start won all the way. He is a fairly good gelding and improves with racing. Little Henry ran a good race and wasalso well ridden, as Bloss nursed him cleverly though the stretch when the colt was tired enough to lie down. The Elk got into a jam at the start and had a rough journey tnrou«hout. Poyntz made up a lot of ground in the stretch. Cluster got away poorly and made a good showing. He can probably beat this kind from now on. William Boyer ran a bad race. Remark showed some speed but not much. Overweights— Remark, 3 pounds. Bengal, place. 7 to 10; show, out. Winner— B. f, by Jim Gore— Red Veil. Went to post at 2:55. At post 6 minutes. Start good. Won easing up; second cleverly. Third, fourth and fifth were driving to the limit. Scarlet Lily was much the best, was lucky in getting away in the first division and won all the way. Locust Blossum had some bad luck but overcame it gamely and seems to be rounding into her best form. Little Boy Blue was right there all the way. Chisel was hemmed in all the way down the backstretch and never got through until the stretch was reached, then he did nothing sensational and was hardly up to the bruising rush. Woodranger ran a smashing good race. Charley Moore seemed dangerous on the on the far turn, but quit in the stretch. Scratched— 15698 Syra, 113; 19307 Percussion, 122. Barbara M. ran much the best race. She got away well in her stride, had no trouble in getting to the front and stayed there all the way without being hard pressed. Audie ran a good race. She faltered for an instant in the stretch but came on again at the end. Regea wat poorly handled, still she had no chance of beating Barbara M. to-daf. Glove had no excuses and does not seem to amount to much. The first three alwayB had the race between them. Overweights— Nellie Forest, 4 pounds; Air Castle, 14. Barbara M., place, 2 to 5; show, out. Winner— B. m, by Buckmaster— Pickup. Went to post at 4 :00. At post 3 minntes. Start good. Won easily; second and third were doing their best. Found liked the light weight, got away fully in her stride, and smothered her field with speed. She seems to be in her best form now and under light weight will be hard to beat at a mile. Ohnet is a consistent performer and possesses quite a bit of speed and staying power. Scales had no excuses and seemed to be running at ease on the far turn but failed dismally when called upon in the stretch. Florizar needed this race and will be hard to beat with a good strong rider up on a fast track. Found, place, 9 to 10; show, 2 to 5. Ohnet, place, 6 to 5; show, 9 to 20. Scales, show, 1 to 4. Winner— B. h, by Patron— Madie. Went to post at 4:35. Off at the first break to a good start. It was a spectacular finish. The first seven were lapped on one another and driving to the limit. Patroon is in fine form and under a smashing good ride won a well-earned victory. The horse tried to run out at the head of the stretch and lost much ground, but through the stretch be displayed great courage and won on hi;- gamenes. Pay the Fiddler ran a good race. He was in front at the sixteenth post, but hung a trifle after that. Dagmar stopped on the turn, but came again at the end. Prince Blazes was right there all the way, and with a stronger rider up might have won. Donation stumbled in the stretch and almost fell. Papa Harry was interfered with just as he was getting ready to 1 make bis run. Scratched— :C027 Judge Denny, 101; 19937Maggie Davis. 1C0; 20114-iOxnard, 104; 20146 Senator Thompson, 99. Winner— Ch. c, by De Beauvoir— Fannie Lyons. Went to post at 5 :05. Off at t he first break to a good start. Won easily. There was much sharp action behind the winner. Owensboro was the best and was never fully extended Tally always had him in a good position and went to the front when ready. Plantain came with a rush through the stretch. This horse had a very rougli journey. Aloha II. was always a contender, as was iady Britannic. Woodtrice retired after going about five furlongs. Lew Hopper got away all tangled up and never really got straightened out. Besides this lie pinned his ears back and sulked all the way. There was a general mix-up on the first turn and 8ister Fox almost fell. Scratched -199653Ben Chance, 101. Overweights— Lomond, 24 pounds; Dandy H., 1 ; Lew Hopper, 1.
