LAUREATE IN BAD LUCK Yesterday for tbe first time since the Worth track opened the spectators had a chance to object to a decision made by tbe judges and they certainly protested long and loud loudIt It was the third race about which the disturb ¬ ance arose and in this Minerva and Aransas fin ¬ ished eo close together that it was almost im ¬ possible to separate them themThe The Worth grandstand is built on such an angle that when a close finish turns up the spectators are in no position to decide the win ¬ ner correctly and the noieo raised over yester ¬ days close decision was entirely uncalled for and out of line lineMinerva Minerva and Aransae hooked up at the six ¬ teenth post and from there to the wire had it hammer and tongs Minerva was on the inside and Aransas bore in on her and seemed deter ¬ mined to crowd the filly over the fence Co burn who rode Aransas acted fairly enough and in his effort to keep his mount from com ¬ mitting a foul was compelled to pull the geld ¬ ings head sideways so that when be passed the wire Aransas was looking squarely into the stand On the other hand Minerva was run ¬ ning as true as a die and her margin at the finish was plain enough to the judges and to any one who happened to be on the same angle that the officials were wereKid Kid Weller burned up the ring on the second race Be backed Lissome from 20 to 1 down to 8 to 1 and the gelding won easily Weller watches the races closely and got a line on Lis ¬ some in a race in which the gelding was badly ridden at Lakeside LakesideJames James Arthur left last night for St Louis He starts W J Deboe in the Inaugural Handi ¬ cap and will have J Martin to ride rideNothing Nothing but bad racing luck kept Laureate from winning his race The gelding was bumped into and knocked to his knees by Monongah and after that was compelled to race on the out ¬ side of his field all the way Leo Newell handled to perfection won the race rather handily handilyStable Stable room has been assigned to tbe follow ¬ ing owners and trainers at the Hawthorne race track Chicago Jockey Club Burns Water house San Francisco 14 horses George J Long Louisville 15 R Tucker Louisville 19 J C Milam Lexington12 T J McHaleMemphis6 J F Schorr Memphis 20 E R Bradley Chi cago 3 R W Bradley Wilcox Landing Va 18 D Lamasney Kansas City 11 S K Hughes Lexington 8 B C Bunbury Fort Worth 4 and 8 Bryant Louisville 5
