THE PRICES GOOD RACE A large and enthusiastic gathering went out to Harlem yesterday attracted to the coarse by a eratking good card of aaven races The weather was balmy and pleasant the track fast and everything chimed in to make the after ¬ noons eport one long to be remembered It is estimated that nearly ten thousand persons passed through the turnstiles turnstilesThe The feature event of the day the Austin Stakes for threeyearolds and upward ona and onesixteenth miles with 1500 added was taken by Tom Byane The Pride which won in an impressive fashion fairly running away from hie field Star Chamber is out of form and put up another of his dull performances and was never a factor at any part of the race To a fair start The Pride at once assumed an easy command leading at the half by two lengths with Silurian second a length and a half in front of Serrano with Lady Strathmore fourth There was little change in these posit ¬ ions up to the last eighth with tho exception that Serrano fell away beaten just before reach ¬ ing the stretch entry The Pride was so rank throughout ttie entire journey that Dominick could hardly hold him and ho won pulled up almost to a walk by three lengths Lady Strathmore closed on Silurian fast in the last sixteenth and beat him out by a half length for second position The others were virtually beaten off and were never in the hunt from flag dip to finish finishSix Six Shooter was dropped into an easy berth in the fifth race and had little trouble in scor ¬ ing He laid in fourth position within hailing distance up to the homestretch where Knight called upon him and he ran away from his field as if the others were tied winning by six lengths Henry Bnrt which had led up to the last sixteenth was second a length before Charley Moore Henry Bnrt showed gamenees in the last hundred yards something he was not supposed to be possessed with Charley Moore ran a much improved race and is ready to win when placed right Rollick was right there tip to a sixteenth out outConBtellator ConBtellator bad little trouble in the sixth raca in double shooting the game for Tom Ryan going into the lead soon after the first half had been run and easily remaining there to the end He won by two lengths from Evelyn Byrd which finished about the same distance in front of Hermencia The last named appeared to have a chance for second place in the last sixteenth but tired badly in the closing strides Yan Hoorebeke as usual died away when the pinch came Alaska was beaten off all the way wayThe The days opener was taken by Andes which has longbeen overdue for a bracket His vic ¬ tory was somewhat in the nature of a lucky one Likeness being badly pinched put of the race for a epell just after passing beyond the first quarter and in making up the lost ground it took much of her speed and she had nothing left to finish with To a Rood etart Andes jumped into tho lead closely followed by Mas ¬ ter Mariner and Natural Gas The first two ran necks apart up to a furlong out where Master Mariner fell away beaten Along in here Likeness moved up fast on the inside rail but Andes had her shut in and to make matters worse Hicks rode a poor finish and Andes finally won by a length with Likeness two and a half in front of Bosa Diab which ran in improved form and finished strongly Pupil well up to the Jaet eighth tired perceptibly from there in If Ton Dare had no chance from where he got off iuaille Bramble showed speed and altogether zaa foodrace The second race a dash of four and a half f longs for two year olds was marred to a great extent by the start Magi the winner getting a flying advantage of almost two lengths Bene ¬ fited by this send off she fairly ran away from her field winning in a canter by four lengths The fight for second place was a hot one Mabel Winn just lasting long enough to get the verdict by a nock on the post from Hoodwink Mollio T showed a good turn of speed for nearly a half mile mileMiss Miss Bennett stepped off six furlongs in the third race in 11292 which is the fastest time mado hereabouts this year To do this how ¬ ever she was driven out to the last ounce and only won by virtue of a stronger ride than that put np on Bnrnia Bunton Had Ransom been able to halp the latter in the closing strides she surely must have won To a good start Miss Bennett darted into tho lead at once holding an advantage of a length and a half over Bur nie Bnnton at the first quarter and Increasing it to two just bsforo entering the final quarter Along in here Bnrnic Bnnton moved up fast and nailed her just after straightening for homo Burnie Bunton had Miss Bennett beaten at the laet sixteenth but Dominick would not be denied and going to work with oil tho strength he could summon fairly lifted the daughter of Russell under the wire by a nose It was a clear case of a jockeys victory Han ¬ som showing to poor advantage in the closing strides Sam Fullen finished third eight lengths away Harry Herendeen ran well for about a half Theorys race was not np to her mark and should bi thrown aside in future cal ¬ culations She showed but little speed at any part of the race and was badly outrun for the entire journey Elsie Euhn showed quite a turn of speed in the first part of the race raceThe The finale brought sixteen horses to the post Havilaud on his good run to Evelyn Byrd the day before being made a decided favorite Ho should have won but was almost thrown down by Frank Ireland at the first turn and lost gronnd thereby He made up BO much space thereafter that it took all the speed out of him and he had nothing left to stall off Chorus Boys bid in the last fifty yards The latter won by a neck on the post going away with Haviland the same distance before Eunja Hub Prathor seemed to have a chance when a sixteenth out but died away in the closing strides
