GOSSIP OF THE TURF Roehamptons defeat of gallant old Imp last week brings to mind the fact that Mr Follans baes swiftfooted colt has won eight out of nine races this year and that his single defeat oc ¬ curred when the colt was indisposed Roe hamptons victories have all been so easily achieved that nobody seems to know how good a horse he really is It must be admitted that he has been well placed in his various races which is half of his success but at that it is confidently believed that Roohampton can beat a whole lot of highclass horses in the handicap division who are traveling on false reputations A match race betweon Roohampton and Blues Frank Farrells speedy threeyear old has been suggested It would prove a big card no doubt Since Farrell bought him Blues has taken a big brace and has become a consistent winner During the early part of the season Bluaa was considered no account but the tide turned when ho placed the Iroquois Stakes to his credit at Brighton Blues and Roohampton come pretty near being at the top of the three yearold division with Commando and Conroy of course not counted
