ONeil mis-bandied South Breeze. Off in front, he allowed her to be outpaced and used poor judgment in the early part of the race. Even then the filly might have won had he not twice switched from the reins to the whip without then using the whip. Wine Press ran in much improved form and will do preaently. He can probably do better. Bart Howe ran an excellent race and was poorly ridden. Leviathan, away in a tangle, shotted a smart tnrn of speed in a big field and finished resolutely. Goody Good, worried by the large field, ran the best race of the lot. She is a good filly and will do presently. Marie Tyron bas a very sore mouth. Overweights Mollie Brooks. 3 pounde. Won handily; second easily, Sambo showed much early speed today in sharp contrast to his last race, came through the field in the stretch and won wit something in reserve. Ross of Red was badly mismanaged by Hall. She -was allowed to swerve all over the track at the end and stopped running fast while strong and -willing. HuntreEBa does not like weight. Wakita did not show her usual brilliant early speed but she finished very stoutly after running wide at the stretch turn. With a ground saving ride she would have done better. Mada Belle was made too much use of in early pace-making. She dikes to run from behind to the stretch. Hose of Bed, show, 8 to 5. BuntresBa, show, out. Wakita. show, oat. 28169 SIXTH RACE 1 Mile. Off last, hn was taken through the bin field, hitting everything in it as he went along. He waB almost thrown over the fence at the half mile, bnt managed to break through and win easily. Diaz ran an excellent rac and would possibly have won as it was run had he been well handled. Fairy Day also suffered from incompetent haniling.
