Wax Taper, outrun by many lengthB in the first half, suddenly moved up with a marvelous burst of spied, and but for bung crossed on the stretch turn would probably have won. Be is an extremely good horse on a sloppy track. The Rhymer, which is not as good as formerly, was lucky to bsat St. Finnan for third money. The last pamed, having been prominent throughout, ran away above any form ha has hitherto shown on a muddy track. Duelist was sent along in the first part of the race for all he was worth and tired badly after showing a good six furlongs. Mint Bed broke running and is a speedy filly especially in the going of today. Octoroon, off flatfooted, made up a lot of ground. She is a bad actor at the post and cutting up took a lot out of her. Pearl Finder and Batyah we:a both closing fast at the end. The last named was very badly handled and should have bean third. The others were never in it.
