It was a tight finish, only those in the judgss stand being able to tell exactly which won. Boomer-ack began to tire in the last eighth. He appeared to be the best when a furlong cut. Barilla was speedy but tired in the last eighth. Fox Bard rau a fair race and was right there all the way. Strangest came fast at the end but too late to be of any brail. Frangible ran well for a mile and then began to gradually drop away beaten. The ride on Tammany Chief was a poor one. Hope did all but fall off him.
