Igniter came with a rush in the last fnrlong but was outgamed by the winner in the final drive. Setauket ran well but was badly handled. Lady Godiva requires a strong vigorous rider and failed unaccountably in the last sixteenth. Glen Water broke slowly bnt lacked speed throughout and was beaten off. Ha is steadily improving, Sadie S., away very badly, closed up a great deal of ground. She likes a heavy track and ran in m improved form, but is nowhere near her spring form. It was Brandy Smashs going, but he cannot stay. Althea as usual was going fast at the end. Lady of the Valley was overweighted and quit badly in the last furlong. Knight of the Garter, away badly, sulked throughout and had no chance with his bad rider. Bold Knight was ridden to a standstill in the first half and quit in the stretch. He was conceding much weight and can do better in more capable hands. Alpan was cut down at the half. The others conld not force him to do his best in the first part of the race, which was greatly in his favor. The Rhymer put up a thoroughly good race. Hernando was outrun early and showed a very evident dislike for the down-hill course, swerving repeatedly under punishment, bnt once on level ground he came very -Jast.
