Won driving; second easily. Linden Ella ran one cf her best races going into the lead at nag fall and remaining there to the end, bnt she had to be driven ont to the limit to outlive W. B. Gates. The latter finished fast and strongly through the last eighth. He swerved badly as uBual toward the inside rail when opposite the paddock gate, throwing Miss Liza off ber stride. Strangest was the victim of a poor rida and waB ridden all over the stretch. Miss Liza ran a surprisingly good race and was right there up to within fifty yards of the wire. He ran Merriment to defeat in the first half mile and then came away with esse, winning as Lib rider pleased. Merriment was the best of the others. She tired badly in the last eighth. Tom Eingsley ran in much improved form. He made up much ground in the final half, finishing strongly. Searcher, badly outrun in the first part of the race, closed up considerable ground in the last half. Lennep had enough after a half mile had been run. Ecome was tiring when the pinch came. St. Wood swung wide at the head of the stretch, losing ground. J. H. Barnes had enough whoa a quarter out. Seguranca tired in the last eighth.
