Fauntleroy rode a good race on Ciales, picked the good going and clearly outgeneraled both Daly and Troxler. He got to the best path in the stretch first, then bore the other two into the soft going on the inside. Tremar was much used in pacemaking and was taken in the bad going all the way. Troxler took Brulare too close to the rail where the mud was deep and was beaten to the good going in the stretch. Tom Collins ran a bad race and showed but little of his usual speed. The same applies to Verify, though the track favored both. Scratched 28780 Miss Mae Day, 100. Overweights Tom Collins, 2 ponnds. . No show betting on first three. 28837 FOURTH RACE 6 1-3 Furlongs. She was favored by the start here but Colonial Girl and Meditation were right with her and on recent past races should have beaten her easily. Jordan got the worst of the start and ran a good race under light weight which he favors. Sambo had no chance after the flag fell. He seemed Btiff and sore and did not run his race. Meditation was badly ridden in the softest going and had her heart broken in chasing Ethylene. Ben Hempstead was outclassed, Overweights Ben Hempstead, 5 pounds. Ethylene, show, 31 to 1. Petit Maitra was beBt at the weights, was vigorously ridden, liked the soft track and ran a good race. South Breeze ran an extra good race and might have won with a good finisher on her. Picador closed up stoutly in the stretch run. Found ran a bad race. Wax Taper was closing up under a hard drive when he overstrode himself, caught his off fore plate with his hind foot and threw himself. He was severely wrenched but not otherwise hurt.
