It will be run Baturday. next. The dist-ance is one and three quarters miles. L. V. Bellew thinkB Mabel Winn will be one of the best fillies in the west next year. She has been sent to Owensboro, Ky.- and nothing will be done with her until the middle of next May. The bookmakers at Oakland, it is said, will file a protest against charging .50 admission to the track. They say the present price has much to do with keeping- many away from the course. Becretary E. C. Hopper, of the Latonia race track, will start for California Thursday, returning in time next year to look after the spring opening at the Cincinnati track. The f Uowing jockeys have arrived at New Orleans: Bice, Dunn, Baesinger, Hope, Otis, Davisson, Gormley, Boyd, Helgeson, J. Wilson, Max Hirsch and McCue. Fred Cock quit the Latonia meeting somewhat ahead after being behind considerably for the first two weeks. .
