Appreciation closed a big gap after getting away all tangled up and outgamed Insolence when it came to a drive. Vituria showed speed for a half mile. Almanzo had no chance from where he got off. Curtsey saved ground at the home turn; came very fast in the stretch, wore down Little Chico and got up just in time. With jockeys reversed Little Chico would have won. Minder outrode Lowe. Little Chico had all the early speed but was tiring at the end. Prue Wood ran to her notch. H. S. Tobacco was practically left. He made up much ground but the effort told on him at tho finish and he stopped. Lelia Barr had no chance from where she got off. Flintlock was outrun in the first part, came to the extreme outside at the stretch turn, finished stronglyin the last furlong and out-gamed The Common. The latter weakened when the real issue came. He was off well and took the short route. Wilfrid Laurier was raced into submission by The Common and hung at the end. Edin-borough did not like the going. Scratched 33401 Clarena, 97. He was under a drive all the last quarter and outgamed the others. Lome was off well in motion, had all the early speed, but hung when tho real issue came. Jones was of little help to Spinet when it came to a drive. Stunts ran as if short. The field ran close together all the way and it looked as if any one of them might win a sixteenth from home. King Galong ran a much improved race. Verna K. made a bad landing at the seventh jump and fell. Overweights Yasodhara, 2 pounds. No show betting.
