The Amazon, lucky and prominent throughout, came with a rush at the end and was easily best. Belle of Lexington was tiring badly at the end and lucky to beat Star of the West. The latter had displayed brilliant speed p.nd suffered from a vory weak finish. Barouche broke flatfootod and had a rough journey. She closed a big gap in the last half and finished fast and will do much better over a longer distance. Torchlight, away badly, raced on the outside on both turns and finished strongly after having made up many lengths. Wissendine went well. Scratched 33209 Pleasant Sail, 100; 32504 Viviani, 100. Overweights Avis, 4 pounds. The Amazon, show, 7 to 5. Belle of Lexington, show, 3 to 5. Star of the West, show, 6 to 1. Barouche, show, 1 to 4. " rj SECOND BACE 5-8 Mile. 00 added. 2-year-olds. Cinquevalli was best, waited on Fort Wayne to the stretch, where he brushed by him with ease and won going away. Fort Wayne made the running for the first half under a pull and was stopping in front of ana pocketing Yardarm. The latter was closing up very strongly and was second best. Bed Knight finished well. Bight and True was easing up at the end, could have been closer up and ran a great race after being carried wide on the stretch turn. Winner B. c, by Charaxus Ethie trained by B. Miller. Went, to post at 3:50. At post 1 minute. Start good. Won driving; second the same. Ethics, always favored this track, was under a hard drive to keep within striking distance of Kilogram for the first six furlongs, but gradually wore him down in the stretch and just got up in the last stride after a terrific drive. Kilogram is evidently in good form, set a clinking pace throughout and held on unusually well at the end. The Bival was taken back and waited on the first two and moved up fast for an instant on the far turn, but unexpectedly failed to hold his own in the last quarter. He willimprove as he evidently is still suffering from his hard race in the Bealization. Scratched S3447Highlander, 109; 330673Himself, 106; 33210 The Begent, 98; 33506 Numeral, 84. Hnrstbourne indulged the pacemakers to the stretch when he ran past them with great ease, was much the best and is evidently a crackerjrck. Prediction was tiring at the end and just managed to save second place from Athelroy. The latter after trailing the field for the first half closed up with a tremendous rush. Dr, Baylor put up a steady game race. Toscan seemingly cannot stay except in mud. Scratched 31797 Tom Lawson, 113. 33478 Janeway, 112; 33388Lady Josephine, 109. Hnrstbourne, show, out. Winner B. g, by Racine Pow Wow. Went to post at 4:45. At post 6 minutes. Start good. Won in a canter ; second easily. Potente outclassed the field, took the lead at the start and stayed there throughout. Hard held, he opened a wide gap on the far turn and was easing up in the stretch. Henry Clay Rye broke badly but moved up gradually and left the others far behind him when straightened for the wire. Lone Fisherman, lucky and skillfully handled, barely saved third place from Philippine. The latter was very sore and broke so slowly at the start as to have been nearly left, but closed a tremendous gap. C. Bosenfeld made up much ground, but was very badly ridden. Bounteous was going well at the end. General Mart Gary was evidently short and Cigar was out of place. - .
