NOTES OF THE TURF. The Autumn meeting of the Ontario Jockey Club, Toronto, Canada, will commence on Saturday, September 27 and continue to and including Saturday, October 4, in all seven days. A number of valuable stakes will be announced shortly, and there will be no purse of less value than 00 at the meeting. The Crescent City Jockey Club, New Orleans, La., has made the following appointments for its winter meeting of 1902-3 : Presiding steward, Clarence McDowell; associate steward, Frank J. Bryan; presiding judge, Col. R. W. Simmons ; associate judge, John M. Huger. Bob B., Chicago. It was a good, but not fast track at Delmar, July 7. Showers fell after racing began, but not sufficiently heavy to materially affect going. The yearling Rainland, by Rainbow Fable, is credited with having worked an eighth over the Lexington track a few days ago in 111 seconds.
