He was under restraint for the first half and moved up strongly when Thompson called on himi Ocie Brooks was tiring at the end and may have been somewhat short. Little Chico showed the most early speed and was well ridden, but quit when the pinch came. Also Ban H. tired in the run home. Heroine tiptoed her field with early speed, but had to do her best at the end to stall off the other two. Hallucination closed a big gap from a slow beginning, but was tiring at the end. Enhance came again in the last twenty yards and would have been second in another stride. Flora Hooper closed a big gap. Jet tired in the stretch. Arachne had to be shaken up at the end to stall off Ecome. The latter showed great improvement over his previous races here, came strongly in the run home and was gaining on Arachne at every stride. Jones saved ground with him at every turn and put up a strong finish. All Souls, as usual, began slowly. He closed a big gap, but lost a lot of ground when turning into the stretch. He would have won easily had he got to going well in the first part of the race. Sir Gallant swerved badly in the last sixteenth, interfering with Gorey and Stunts. Dinksie closed a big gap. Sprung raced Woodchuck into subjection and stood off Opuntia and Brissac in the stretch. Minder took the short route with him and rode a good race. Opuntia was under a hard drive all through the last quarter and came wide at the home turn. Brissac closed a big gap, but tired after challenging the leaders. Lathrop came very wid at the home turn.
