She ran away fully a mile to a false start losing her jockey. He remounted and took her back to the barrier. Always well up she came away easily in the last eighth and finished strongly. The Rabbit showed her usual turn of speed, but tired when the pinch came. Somersault finished gamely. Marshalsea made up much ground in the last quarter. Form began slowly, but made up much ground when turning for home and was running past horses in the final sixteenth. Lendin moved up fast when turning for home and appeared an easy winner whan a sixteenth out, but here Top-soil came with a rush the two fighting it out to the wire. Buchanan tried to come through an impossible opening with Topsoil near the last aighth post when Lendin had the rail. In pulling up to go around he lost valuable ground but rallied and finished strongly. Lendin swerved badly in the last seventy-five yafds which came near losing him the race. Glendon ran his race. He runs beat in soft going. King Dodo ceased to be a serious contender when entering the last quartar. Dutch Princess showed early speed. Lendin, show, out. Topsoil, show, out. Lady Idris ran a surprisingly good race, showing much speed and standing a last sixteenth drive with gameness. A. D. Gibson was slightly cut off at the last eighth post, but finished strongly. But for this mishap he might have finished second. Fitzkanet ran a dull raca and his poor performance should be thrown out in future calculations. Duelist was always outrun.
