Tobe Paine raced Carl C. into exhaustion, but was under pressure all the way. Angea workod her way through the field from a poor beginning and. finishing strongly, caught Carl C. tiring and got third place in tho last stride. Carl C.s bad legs bothered him and he tired in the final sixteenth. Els-moro got off well, but could not stand the pace. It was a weak ride on Northumberland und he is sure to improve. Won easily; second the same. Lampshade went around his field, cut across to the inner rail on the far turn, shutting off Dusky Secret and Tampa, finished fast and was never in trouble. Dusky Secret was as easily the best of the others and might have given the winner trouble but for the mishap. Louden let go of Gallawaters head in the stretch and he fell back, but closed up stoutly when he got to going again. Sammie Mac finished strongly, but was outrun in the first part.
