Handcuff was well handled, finished fast and came away in the last sixteenth. Flaneur was crowded at the half mile ground, but finished strongly with clear sailing. Junaetta, lucky to avoid interference at the start, showed a good turn of early speed, but weakened when the pinch came. Lord Frazer and Sortie were caught in a jam on the turn soon after the start. Both would have been strong factors but for this interference. Also Ran II. showed a flash of speed, but tired. He is not at his best at present. Scratched 34641 Ergo, 109; 349013Kingbrook, 109. " Charley Thompson, away well in his stride, saved ground on th turns, stood a stretch drive gamely and got up in the last stride. Aratoma forced the pace for the first half, assumed command on the stretch bend and appeared the probable winner, but faltered in the last twenty yards. Annu paced the field steadily for the first half, but tired fast in the run home. Ethel Davis ran a good race and lasted well. Competitor began slowly. The Bronze Demon lacked speed and ran poorly. Dolly Hayman was outpaced in the early stages but came with a rush in the last quarter. Ontonagon weakened when the drive came. John J, Regan had no mishaps and ran a decidedly bad race. Cast Iron, cut off soon after the start, was forced to take back on the first turn, gradually made up lost ground, and, although again losing ground on the stretch bend, came with great speed in the last eighth and won v with much in reserve. Maple forced Miss Dooley to set a fast pace in the going for the first three-quarters and caused her to be raced into exhaustion. She appeared an easy winner at the stretch head, but could not stall off Cast Irons fast rush. Clarena, badly handled, ran well on her own courage. Miss Dooley-tired badly-in the run home. L.
