Tip Gallant indulged Walter Cleary with the lead for two miles, then forged to the front cantering and was muck the best. He is evidently a superior cross-country performer. Howard Gratz finished with a rush through the last quarter. Walter Cleary was a good horse for over two miles, but tired badly at the end and may have been short. The others were always outrun. Prediction, away poorly, raced into prominence early and finished fast and was easily best, but weakly ridden. Kittaning ran a game race. Royal took command in the stretch after indulging the pacemaker for six furlongs, but was unable to withstand the winners strong challenge. He. was a good horee, however. Auries-ville held on remarkably well and ran like a stayer. Honolulu is genuinely improved, but always best in soft going. Captain Arnold and Allan were not good enough.
