LOCAL TURF GOSSIP. Jockeys Coburn and T. Dean were yesterday indefinitely suspended by the Worth judges for mnsatisfactory ridiug, while Jockey Treanor was given a vacation for an indefinite period for general incompetency and recklessness. The suspensions of the first two named caused great surprise and was the main topic during the afternoon among horsemen. Judge Morse in speaking about the suspension of Coburn and Dean stated that there was nothing criminal against either rider, but their riding of late has been very unsatisfactory and on that account he had decided to keep them out of the saddle. As to Treanor the judge said the youngster had shown in several races that he had no regard for life or limb, and that unless he was stopped from riding he would cause a serious accident. . ... J. S. Ward has bought an interest in the horses belonging to S. P narlan and Co., giving, in addition to a money consideration, an interest to Mr. Harlan in his own horses. Both stables will be combined and race under the name of S. P. Harlan and Co. Ethel Wheat and Nanlahka, which were to be sold today at auction, have boen withdrawn from the sale. Jockey Hoar was yesterday suspended for three das by starter Dwyer for misbehavior at the post. W. Hedges purchased tho two-year-old Questo Saturday at private terms.
