Maldea secured a lucky start, forced the pace throughout and ran a fast and game race. Potente closed a big gap from a bad start ajid finished with a rush. Miss Buttermilk seemed like the "winner a furlong out but was tiring badly at the end. G. Whittier, nearly left, made up twenty lengths on the leaders and was running faster than everything in the stretch. Ben Howard went well. Honolulu ran a dull race and quit in the last furlong. Royal Summons is much improved, waited on Uranium to the stretch, where he easily took the lead and won going away. Uranium forced a fast pace and held on well at the end. Guy Park stood a long drive gamely Illyria was a contender for third money up to the last fifty yards. Knight of Gold and Rosewater both ran very badly.
