Wineland showed much speed, but tired rapidly in the last sixteenth struggle. Candareen finished resolutely and would have been second in another stride or two. Countess Reasoner showed early speed. She was badly outrun in the first half, but moved up steadily in the final quarter and finished strongly, wearing down If You Dare in the closing strides. The latter finished well and was much the best of the others. Mattie Spencer showed her usual sped. but tired palpably when th pinch camo. Bummer made up ground in the last quarter, but showed little early speed. Optional was well beaten just after turning for home. Fake was never a serious factor.
