LOCAL TURF GOSSIP. If You Dare, the winner of the third race, was the medium of heavy backing, which forced his odds of 4 to 5 at the opening to 7 to 10 at post time. At the latter price "Kid" Weller accepted a commission of ,000 from E. J. Arnold. Jockey Bobbins still continues in his winning form and easily scored the riding honors yesterday by piloting three of the six winners. Indian, which started in the closing race, broke down after going a half mile and could scarcely be led off the track. False Leads race yesterday, although ridden by Battiste, considered by many the best jockey at Lakeside, was in no way an improvement over his previous effort, on which occasion W. Waldo, who rode him, was suspended indefinitely. The poor showing made by the horse yesterday should be sufficient to convince the judges that Waldo is not guilty of any wrongdoing in this particular case and should restore him to favor.
