Sevoy is very fit and broke running, but was taken back. He then moved up fast on the far turn and easily assumed the lead but was tiring under the weight at the end and doing his best. Unmasked closed up strongly from the head of the stretch, but could not get up although hard ridden and was easily best of the others. Illyria, in light, finished with a good burst of speed and will win when properly placed. Nevermore was rnnning well at the end. Demurrer found the company too fast at the distance and lacked the grand burst of speed he displayed in his previous race. Contend was plainly short and is worth remembering. Captivator was used up in early racing and was eased up at the end. Won easily ; second driving. The race was only an exercise gallop for Saccharometer, which was short in his previous effort and can beat better company than this. Glennevis was under a hard drive all the way with Mount Kisco and lasted longest. Mount Kisco ran to his best form. Barkelmore would have been second in a few more strides. Stonewall can win. in the same company. His racs was a good one. Mennenfield is a slow beginner. The Guide made up some ground and is improving. Sun Gold got off poorly. Plantatjenet showed a good race for five furlongs and has worked fast. The field carried tne barrier with them at the start and it intrfered with the chances of the last half dozen, finally throwing Bernard down. He was tiring at the end and pulled up lame in the near foreleg. Benckart was well ridden in an attempt to catch the winner, but could not get up. Mosketo ran well and would have boon a keen contender with stronger handling. McWilliams made up a big gap after beginning slowly and would have been a contender with an evn start. Great America has been steadily improving, showed a fine order of speed today and forced the pace after going the first quarter and had plenty left at the end. Early Eve was under a drive in the last half, but could not improve her position Bay, crowded back at the start, worked through the field and finished strongly. Animosity was poorly ridden. It was a poor race for Lady Sterling, her weight, the distance and weak handling provine: too much for her. Sir Faust, along striding youngster, liked the distance, closed up strongly under punishment when a furlong from home and was going away at the end. Fading Light was prominent throughout-and outgamed Earl of Warwick in the final drive. The latter was tiring badly, hut has worked fast and should do better with a good rider up. Pearl Diver and Gates made up a lot of ground and the latter would have been third in a few more strides. Wheeler B. was close up because others were pulling up. Ithan and Star and Garter were ueed up in early racing. The latter was eased up when beaten. April Shower, off running, fit and in light, displayed spesd and might have won farther off but for trying to run out in the final furlong, Redfern being compelled to cut him across the head with his whip. Cameron, in a good position throughout, was hard ridden in the stretch, but his weight anchored him and he could not get up. The early-pace was too much for Young Henry. He was in a pocket to the stretch and finished gamely and his race was a good one at the weights. Himself, very fit, showed plenty of speed but found the route and pace too much. He can win when properly placed. Rossignol received a poor start. Jim Clark received much the worst of the send-off, being flatfooted and behind the field Scratched 36286 Sevoy, 126: 36286 Demurrer, 120; 36267 Andy Williams, 120; 36267The Hueuenot 118; 36248 Huntressa, 116; 362282G.
