Sir Lewis showed speed, but failed to stay and is strictly a mudlark. Parsifal is the same and sulks when without blinkers. Estado, show, 7 to 5. Azarine, show, 3 to 5. Elkarn, show, 3 to 1. He is steadily improving and ran like a stayer. Proper broke flatfooted and failed to get into action until too late, closed up with a rush right at the end and caught Organdie napping in the last stride for second place. The latter, excessively used, displayed brilliant early speed and, tiring at the end, swerved over to the rail under a weak finish and was unlucky to lose. Jockey Club should improve. Claude can do much better. Polonius, show, 1 to 5. Proper, show, 1 to 5, Organdie, show, 1 to 5. 30390 THSRU fiACE 1 Mile and 100 Yard8, Parse S40O. 3-year-olds and upward. Canejo, lucky and having clear sailing, was reserved for a stretch run, made good in game fashion and was best, but was swerving at the end. Formero, hard held and apparently a sure winner for six furlongs, waited on the pacemaker and unexpectedly failed in the stretch, but was jostled and palpably sulked. He always does when without blinkers and given a weak finish. Learoyd made up much ground in the last half finishing strongly. Gawaine forced the pace and held on well for seven furlongs. Louwelsea retired at the end of six furlongs. Canejo, show, 1 to 3. Formero, show, out. Learoyd, show, 4 to 1. All Green broke slowly, worked his way through in the deep going next to the rail and took the lead when straightened for the wire, easily retained it to the end and won going away. He has very dickey legs and favors soft going, but should improve. Bedner, poorly ridden and messed about, ran a game race. Mountebank forced a stiff pace and held on unexpectedly; well and ran to his best form. Jim Hale ran poorly. Legal Maxim was outclassed. Phil Archibald was crossed at the start and lost many lengths on the first turn but closed a tremendous gap and may have been best.
