Tancreds position at the post next to the inside rail proved a big handicap and Tom Maybin had a winning lead before Tancrnd got out of the deep going. Peter Duryea was cut off at the start, but wore Nabocklish down in the last quarter, caught the latter tiring at the end and won going away. Nabocklish showed the most early spoed and was well ridden, but could not last the trip. Azua was a contender all the way and was easily the best of theothers. Sandflea was never dangerous. Pride of Galore showed a lot of early speed and tired after going a half, but ontgamed Handspinner when it came to a drive. The latter dropped out of it in tho first quarter, then closed a big gap, but tired when hard driven. Latuka was cut off soon after the start and was eased up all through the last furlong. He was tiring at the end ana just managed to last long enough to stall off Ordnune. OConnor attempted to come through on the outside with Ordnung in the last sixteenth, but could not get through, then wont around the leader and allowed Ordnung to swerve over into the heavy going when he pulled his whip. This cost Ordnung the race. Optional was easily the best of the others. Lord Pepper was tinner in the last furlong. Honolulu was in the heavy going all the way. Scratched 365082VV. J. Marcos was in the heavy going for the first quarter and could never get up. Trqcadero was handicapped by having the inside position at the post and the others opened up a lead on him in the first half, which he could never overcome.
