Nellie Forest secured a lucky start, was always prominent, moved up fast on the stretch turn and, under a vigorous finish, outstayed Gawaine after a long, hard drive. The latter broke fist and made the running for seven furlongs and held on well at the end. Doreen, badly interfered with at the start and carried wide on all turns, appeared like winning when straightened for home, but swerved under a weak ride and was probably best. Goldone followed the pacemaker closely for six furlongs, then tired and ran unkindly in the stretch after meeting slight interference. St. Rica went well throughout, The Miller is out of place except in sprints. Loyal S. had a scant chance at the start. Filibuster was practically left at the post. Hamilton. Went to post at 3 :02. At post 3 minutes. Start bad. Won easily; second the same. Mocorito got away in her stride and made most of this advantage, Btealing a long and winning lead on the far turn, which she retained to the end under skillful handling. Her race was a distinct improvement. Tower of Candles broke sideways and up in the air, but went after the leader with her usual brilliant speed and appearod like the winner when straightened for the wire, but failed to stay and apparently dislikes this track. 8nark was lucky throughout and always held third money safe although driving at the end to beat off The Weaver. The latter was closing up strongly after making a wide stretch turn. Botany, practically left, closed a big gap. Scratched 86519 Geyser, 1C9; 36422 Toribio, 104; S65153Montana Peeress, 104. Winner B. f, by Golden Garter Pink Cottage trained by G. B. Morris. Went to post at 3:29. At post 1 minute. Start good. Won handily; second easily. Gravina decisively outraced and outstayed Beau Ormonde and won going away. They raced as a team from the start and it was strictly a two-horse race. Beau Ormonde lost ground on the stretch turn and, after displaying a high order of speed, held on with unexpected gameness and is a genuinely improved horse this year. Iredeus is steadily improving, was close up for the first half in spite of the fast pace and, although tiring in the stretch, outstayid Hudson. The latter went unexpectedly well for five furlongs. St. Winifride broke slowly and was evidently not ready. Geraldine S. displayed moderate speed only. Overweights Bean Ormonde, 2 pounds; Geraldine S., 3. Beau Ormonde, show, out. Won easily ; second driving. Sea Lion waited on tho pacemakers to the stretch, wher he made good with a brilliant stretch run and was best, is in great form and was particularly favored by the soft going. Rollick and Diderot forced the pace for six furlongs and tho former was probably still short, but, boing vigorbusly ridden, outstayed Diderot. The latter is generally a non-stayer except in mud, but ran unexpectedly well on a fast track. El Rio Shannons chances were destroyed on the first turn when Beana fell, and he was pulled up in the last quarter. Oso was close up and going well in hand for six furlongs and made an unexpectedly good showing, although outclassed. The winner was bid up and bought by D. Cox for 00. Corrtcted weights Beana, 109. Organdie, a quick breaker, set a terrific pace to the stretch, where she drew clear and stood a long, hard drive to tho wire, lasting long enough to beat Sir Hugh. The latter was interfered with at the half and compelled to make a wide stretch turn, but finished strongly. Gorgalete followed the winners fast pace closely for a half mile and, although tiring in the last quarter, ran a fine race. Polonius, a rater and out of place in sprints, lost ground at the start and in the early running and made a surprisingly bad showing at the end. Lady Rowell had no chance at the start and can do better. Scratched 365013Dentschland, 107. Organdie, show, 1 to 4. Sir Hugh, show, out, Gorgalete, show, 2 to 1, Polonius, show, out.
