Tom Maybin went .around Anzeiger while rounding the turn into the homestretch, went to the front quickly and was only cantering at the end. It was a bad ride on Anzeiger. Spencer took him off the path and allowed Tom Maybin to come up between him and the outside fence. Agnes Mack tired when it came to a drive. Florestan stumbled soon after the start and was in the heavy going all the way. Mount Hope was bumped into and crowded back soon after the start. Doponan was favored by the mud, wore Lord Pepper down in the stretch run, finished fast and was going away at the end. Lord Pepper was in gocd going all the way and showed the most early speed, but could maintain it no farther than five furlongs. Latson finished on the path and ontgamed John Potter when it came to a drive. Romanelli rode a bungling race on the latter, allowed him to swerve off the path in the stretch and finished in the deep going. Flaneur was cut off a couple of times on the backetretch, but got clear and finished fast. Peat was in heavy going on the outside of the leaders for the first half, ran a good race and will do to watch. Jerry Hunt was eased up when he tired. Landry, on Lord Melbourne, cut the corner at the far turn, but the colt quit when he got in the heavy goiDg. Henry McDaniel was in heavy going all the way and Fauntleroy rode a bungling race on him. Erne made up a lot of ground while rounding the far turn and ontgamed Lou Woods when it camo to a drive. Barrack was crowded off the path and tired badly.
