Suburban Queen was the quickest of the field at the start, showed the most speed and shot across to the inside rail in the first sixteenth, saved ground all the way and was 6ased up through the last furlong. Lord Touchwood did his beat and was hustled along all the way. Rankin outgamed Jndge Cantrill when it came to a drive. The latter began slowly. Alfred C. was off well in motion and Williams took him down on the inside and huggpd the inner rail all the way, raced Tillo to exhaustion and drew away in thi last sixteenth. Charles Ramsey, in a jam at the start, closed a big gap and finished fast on the outside of Tillo and Jndge Maeee and got second place in the last stride. This one will do to remember. Judge Magee tired iu the last ton yards. He was well ridden and might have won but for interference at the start. He got caught in a jam and was crowded back. So was Gautama. The Lady outclassed her field, took command when her ridwr was ready, came away without much effort in the stretch run and had a lot left at the finish. Shoo Fly wa3 easily the best of the others, but was used up getting to the front in the first quarter and tired. Fair Lass was on the outside of the fisld all the way and hung on gamely when it came to a drive. Optionals race was way below the mark, as was also-that of Hanover Qaoen. Shoo Fly, show evens. He then wore the loaders down on the backstretch and took command while rounding the far turn, bnt had to be ridden out at the end to stall off Erne and Trocadero Erne had to go all around his field on the first turn and was drivinu to the limit at the end to stall off Troca-: dero. The latter was coming strongly and finished in the middle of the track Compass was cut off a couple of times. Flaneur was ridden all over the track and came to the outside when entering b the homestretch. Scotch Plaid, show, out. Erne, show. 3 to 2. Jerry Hunt had to come to the outside at the stretch turn and was handicapped by finishing in the rough going. Aratoma ran well and finished fast. Dandle Belle showed speed, but tired as if short.
